Chrismar , from Zamboanga City, was born with a cleft lip, a condition that came as a surprise to his family. Although they were saddened by the diagnosis, they immediately accepted Chrismar and remained committed to giving him the love, care, and support he needed.
As he was growing up, his parents always made sure that Chrismar was well cared for and never left alone, especially during his younger years, to protect him from bullying and hurtful treatment. Although he occasionally experienced teasing, Chrismar chose to remain quiet and walk away instead of responding. Thankfully, he is surrounded by supportive family members, caring neighbors, and loyal friends who have helped him build confidence over the years.
Chrismar is a hardworking and responsible young man who enjoys playing basketball. He also helps support his family by selling fish and preparing meals at home. He hopes that after receiving cleft lip surgery, he will have the confidence to apply for work in a shopping mall. While finding a stable job is one of his immediate goals, his greatest dream is to one day become a police officer and serve his community.
His family believes that the cleft condition may have been inherited, as there are relatives on his father's side with a similar condition. They have always hoped that surgery would not only improve Chrismar's appearance but also give him greater confidence and open more opportunities for his future.
The family learned about Abounding in Love through a friend who encouraged them to seek assistance. Filled with hope, they reached out to the organization, believing that it could help make Chrismar's long-awaited surgery possible.
Today, Chrismar has been lined up for the upcoming Operation Rainbow Australia Medical Mission this August. His family is praying that he will successfully pass the screening and finally receive the cleft lip surgery he has been waiting for. They remain hopeful that this life-changing opportunity will help him gain the confidence to pursue employment, achieve his dream of becoming a police officer, and build a brighter future.

Please be aware that the children enrolled medical missions always have the possibility of changing. It is not uncommon for children to be deemed ineligible for surgery due to other health issues. If this occurs with a child you are sponsoring, we will substitute another child in their place and notify you via email.
