Lystelle
Age: 12 Years Old
Condition: Cleft Palate
Lystelle, the eldest daughter of Christine Mae, was born with a bilateral cleft lip and palate, a condition that took her family by surprise. Despite their initial shock, they quickly embraced her and committed to providing her with love and care. One of the primary challenges they faced was feeding Lystelle during infancy, which required significant sacrifices on Christine's part to ensure her daughter received proper nutrition. She emphasized the importance of attentive care and nutritious meals, especially considering the increased vulnerability of children with cleft conditions to illnesses.
While Christine experienced deep concern for Lystelle's future, the family treated her just like any other child, fostering a loving and supportive environment. Although Lystelle sometimes struggled with feelings of sadness and self-doubt due to her condition, her family's unwavering encouragement helped her navigate these challenges, constantly reminding her of her inherent worth. Lystelle dreams of becoming a doctor or a medical technologist someday. Her parents promised to continue supporting and encouraging her in whatever path she chooses, believing that nurturing her self-confidence is essential in helping her achieve her dreams.
Lystelle underwent cleft lip surgery when she was young, which has greatly impacted her life as she enters adolescence. Her family is optimistic that further treatment will enhance her development and self-confidence. In search of additional care for her cleft palate, Lystelle's mother contacted Abounding in Love, leading to her being scheduled for the Operation Rainbow Australia Medical Mission this August.
The family is hopeful that Lystelle will qualify for surgery, bringing her closer to complete healing. With their unwavering support, Lystelle continues to thrive, pursuing her dreams and looking toward a bright future.
