Vhence's journey beautifully reflects the boundless love and resilience of his parents, Wilmary and Vevendiks. Born with a cleft lip and palate, Vhence entered the world bringing both joy and unique challenges. Initially, his parents felt a wave of concern, but their unwavering love united them in facing every obstacle. One significant challenge was breastfeeding, and with determination, Wilmary dedicated herself to pumping her milk to ensure Vhence received the nourishment he needed. They truly believe that children with cleft conditions are incredible blessings from God, and they inspire others to embrace and cherish their little ones with open hearts.
In March 2024, Vhence underwent a successful cleft lip surgery during a wonderful mission with Rotaplast. Excitingly, he will soon have the opportunity for surgery to repair his cleft palate this March 2025. While they have encountered some unkindness from neighbors who struggle to understand their journey, Wilmary and Vevendiks remain steadfast in their belief that Vhence's situation is not a reflection on them. They encourage him to chase his dreams and hold onto the hope that one day, he will recognize and appreciate the immense love and dedication surrounding him. Vhence’s story is a heartwarming reminder that love and tenacity can light the way through even the toughest challenges.

Please be aware that the children enrolled in medical missions always have the possibility of changing. It is not uncommon for children to be deemed ineligible for surgery due to other health issues. If this occurs with a child you are sponsoring, we will substitute another child in their place and notify you via email.
