Ashier
Age: 1 Year and 11 Months Old
Condition: Cleft Palate
When Ashier was five months in his mother's womb, an ultrasound revealed that he had a cleft condition. Although the news was difficult for the family, it was not entirely unexpected due to their family history. His parents initially struggled to accept the diagnosis but found comfort in knowing that organizations exist to help children like Ashier.
Upon his birth, feeding became a challenge as Ashier struggled to drink properly. At one point, he choked on formula and had to be rushed to the hospital for medical care. Despite these difficulties, Charlyn and her partner have remained hopeful and determined to provide the best possible care for their son. They believe that early surgical intervention will help Ashier avoid bullying and social stigma in the future. Above all, they want him to grow up healthy, confident, and free to pursue his dreams without limitations.
While searching for organizations that provide free cleft surgeries, Ashier's parents discovered Abounding in Love through social media. After reaching out, Ashier was scheduled to join the Rotaplast medical mission in March 2025. Fortunately, he successfully passed the screening and received the cleft lip surgery he needed. His parents were incredibly grateful for the life-changing opportunity.
Ashier was supposed to undergo cleft palate surgery during the Rotaplast medical mission last March. However, the surgery had to be canceled after he developed a cough and was deemed unfit for the procedure. Although disappointed, his mother remained determined to continue seeking treatment for her son. With renewed hope, she has lined up Ashier for the upcoming Operation Rainbow Australia medical mission this August, praying that he will once again qualify for surgery and finally receive the palate repair he needs.
Ashier's parents remain hopeful that correcting his palate will greatly improve his speech and overall quality of life as he grows older. Your generous donation can make a significant difference in Ashier's life, helping provide the medical care and support he needs to thrive and overcome the challenges of his cleft condition.
