Condition: Cleft Palate
Janrick is a remarkable young boy enrolled in the Abounding program when he was only five days old. He was born with a cleft lip and palate condition, but his parents, Jelay and her partner, loved him unconditionally. Although they were surprised by his condition, they never stopped loving him.
The Abounding program was a great help to the family; they hoped that his cleft surgery would be done early to prevent Janrick from being teased by other children.
Thanks to the 'Abounding in Love' program, which partnered with Rotaplast International and the Rotary Club of Cebu Port Centre, Janrick underwent a successful cleft lip surgery at Adventist Hospital in February 2023. The family was overjoyed with the positive outcome and grateful for the program.
Unfortunately, Janrick could not have his palate surgery in February 2024 due to a cough. However, his family remains optimistic, hoping that he can have his palate repaired this June 2024.

Please be aware that the children enrolled in medical missions always have the possibility of changing. It is not uncommon for children to be deemed ineligible for surgery due to other health issues. If this occurs with a child you are sponsoring, we will substitute another child in their place and notify you via email.
