Marco Antonio was born with a unilateral complete cleft condition, which shocked his parents as he was the only family member with this condition. Feeding him was a significant challenge, often resulting in milk coming out of his nose, causing great worry. Despite the difficulties, his parents were determined to fight for him, knowing giving up was not an option.
 
Fear and anxiety constantly accompanied Marco's parents as they faced the challenges of caring for a child with a cleft lip. While they understood the family history behind his condition, their primary concern was Marco’s future. They believed early intervention could help protect him from bullying and foster confidence. For them, surgery represented hope—hope that Marco would not be teased and would grow up to be confident and uniquely handsome.
 
The family discovered Abounding in Love on Facebook while searching for help. They reached out and found an upcoming mission in March 2025 for their son Marco, through the Rotaplast Medical Mission. Traveling from Leyte to Cebu with fear, hope, and prayers, Marco's parents were relieved when he passed the screening. His successful cleft lip surgery changed his life, filling them with joy and gratitude for the opportunity.
 
Looking ahead, Marco is now scheduled for his cleft palate surgery this coming March through Abounding in Love. His parents dream of seeing him go to school, finish his studies, and one day have a decent job and a bright future.

It is not uncommon for children to be deemed ineligible for surgery due to other health issues. If this occurs with a child you are sponsoring, we will substitute another child in their place and notify you via email.
