Maria Ester

Condition: Cleft Palate
Maria Ester was born with a cleft lip and palate on one side, a condition she inherited from her mother, Marlie. Marlie and Maria's grandmother worry about the challenges Maria Ester will face as she grows up, but they are dedicated to helping her every step of the way. Unfortunately, the family is having a hard time paying for the surgeries that Maria needs. Maria's mother is still in school, and her father has left, so Maria's grandmother is taking care of them. Despite these tough times, the family stays strong and hopeful.
They learned about Abounding in Love through a post on their barangay's Facebook page and reached out for help. They were scheduled for different missions, but Maria Ester wasn’t qualified until last March. She finally had her cleft lip surgery through a medical mission with Rotaplast International. Now, Maria Ester is scheduled for another surgery this coming March for her palate surgery.

Please be aware that the children enrolled in medical missions always have the possibility of changing. It is not uncommon for children to be deemed ineligible for surgery due to other health issues. If this occurs with a child you are sponsoring, we will substitute another child in their place and notify you via email.
