Aviegel was in total shock upon seeing her son for the first time with a cleft condition. She was in shock because she was taking extra precautions during her pregnancy. However, as a first-time mom, she did not know that taking folic acid during pregnancy is essential.

Aside from stress, this was also one of the reasons she thought why her son had a cleft since there was no history of a cleft in the family.
The situation became even more heartbreaking when Prince Oliver's father, upon learning about his condition, sent them on a bus back to the city. He believed the child shouldn't be seen by his family, especially with such a condition. After being abandoned by Prince Oliver's father, Aveigel needs to be tough and work hard, knowing she will take good care of Prince and work to support Prince's needs despite the challenges she faces. 
 
Fixing Prince's cleft is one of Aviegel's top priorities. She began searching for medical missions and joined Prince in hopes of getting him the treatment he needs. However, Prince was deferred due to his young age and weight, but Aviegel remained determined. During that mission, she learned about Abounding in Love, an organization that helps connect children with clefts to medical missions. 
 
Last June 2024, Abounding in Love scheduled Prince for a medical mission. Unfortunately, he did not qualify. This March, Aviegel hopes to try again, wishing that Prince will qualify for the upcoming mission.
Aviegel prayed fervently that Prince could have the surgery he deserved during this upcoming mission.
