Condition: Cleft Lip
Elsie and Rey were thrilled when their seventh child, baby Roy, was born. However, their joy turned into worry when they discovered that Roy had been born with a Bilateral Cleft condition, which came as a surprise since there was no history of cleft conditions in their family. Despite facing financial difficulties, Elsie and Rey showered Roy with Love, but their happiness was marred by teasing from neighbors, which hurt the entire family deeply.
Elsie was a housewife, and Rey was a carpenter with an unstable income, making it difficult for them to afford Roy's cleft surgery and transportation to the city. They were desperate for help, and their prayers were answered when a neighbor told them about an organization that assists children with cleft conditions. Abounding in Love visited Roy's family and gave them hope for a better future. In February 2023, Roy qualified for the Rotaplast International Medical Mission and underwent a cleft lip surgery at Adventist Hospital. Although only one side was operated on, the family expressed immense gratitude to everyone involved and looked forward to the next mission to complete Roy's transformation.
Unfortunately, due to a cough, Roy could not have his other lip side repaired in February 2024. However, his family remains optimistic that he can have his complete lip repaired in June 2024.

Please be aware that the children enrolled medical missions always have the possibility of changing. It is not uncommon for children to be deemed ineligible for surgery due to other health issues. If this occurs with a child you are sponsoring, we will substitute another child in their place and notify you via email.
