Thiarah Dhefamie is a joyful two-year-old from Bohol, born with a cleft lip and palate. She is the beloved daughter of Thomie, a fisherman, and Shiela Mae, a dedicated housewife. Since her birth, feeding has been a challenge, requiring her parents to carefully monitor her to prevent any milk from entering her nasal passage. This constant vigilance has been exhausting for them, especially during her infant years.
Though surrounded by love, Thomie and Shiela Mae worry about how others perceive their daughter. To protect her from unwanted attention, they limit her outings. Their family has a history of cleft conditions, which they believe may have played a role in Thiarah's situation.
Thiarah is a happy child with a passion for dancing. After a battle with pneumonia in January, she has fully recovered. Thanks to a prenatal ultrasound, her parents were prepared for her cleft condition from the start.
They discovered the organization Abounding in Love on Facebook, which has offered them hope for Thiarah's corrective surgery. Last January, she was scheduled for a procedure through the Faces of Tomorrow medical mission in Bohol, but it was postponed due to her illness.
Now, they are ready to travel from Bohol to Cebu this March for the Rotaplast International medical mission, which will provide Thiarah with the opportunity for her cleft lip surgery. Your support could help make her dream of a confident, bright future a

Please be aware that the children enrolled medical missions always have the possibility of changing. It is not uncommon for children to be deemed ineligible for surgery due to other health issues. If this occurs with a child you are sponsoring, we will substitute another child in their place and notify you via email.
