Condition: Cleft Palate
When Xander was born, his parents, Rejilyn and William, were faced with the news that he had a cleft lip and palate. Although they were initially uncertain and anxious, they were determined to provide the love and care that Xander deserved and rose to the challenge of being nurturing parents.
They faced many obstacles along the way, from breastfeeding difficulties to concerns about Xander's speech development. But they never wavered in their resolve, remaining hopeful and resilient throughout their journey. Their experience serves as a source of encouragement for others facing similar challenges, showing that with perseverance and faith, anything is possible.
Thanks to the help of Operation Rainbow Australia at Visayas Med Hospital, Xander successfully underwent cleft lip surgery in June 2023. He is now looking forward to his next operation for the palate in June 2024.
